Today I had my second post-op exam! They took my bandage contacts out! But guess what? They put new ones right back in (womp womp). He said my corneas are still a bit swollen, but everything is healing nicely. I think he just wants to be safe. After the doctor took them out, my vision decreased as well, which was really disappointing and a bit frightening. It wasn’t terrible, but words I could read when I walked in, I could no longer make out…
Anyway, I have no idea what type of contacts I had in before, but this time they gave me -0.25 day/night contacts. I hate them even more so. Whenever I put eyedrops in (probably about 30 times per day) it makes the contact all gucky and it takes a minute for them to re-focus. It also stings a bit when I put the prescription drops in. Only 2 more days using the antibiotic drops though!! My next appointment is for December 22nd, and hopefully I get these contacts out for good and my vision continues to improve. I really, really, really don’t want to do surgery again, fingers crossed that my vision gets to 20/20. The doctor said I can drive too, but I’m nervous to drive at night because I can’t see very well.
I guess I’m a bit discouraged from today, it’s frustrating not being able to see clearly, but again I’m so thankful for what I do have already (and the vision I have in the first place). Worse comes to worse I get the procedure again for any corrections I may need (I know I’m jumpin’ the gun a bit there, they don’t decide that until 6 months down the road!). At least my surgeon includes any enhancements in the original surgery cost!
